A Diverse City

TobyMac says the church is called to reflect diversity. Every time he steps foot on stage, Christian hip-hop artist experiences a little bit of heaven. The band that backs him up on his latest CD/DVD project, Alive and Transported, is comprised of people from various racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.

He says that reality is different from his church experience growing up, but it’s a picture of Christ’s vision for His body.

“If we’re ever going to truly be a shining city on a hill, we have to be a diverse city,” he says. “That’s what it’s got to look like for us to be a shining city on a hill.”--Adrienne S. Gaines
